Carl Herbert Garner, Grove resident, died late Wednesday night at Integris Grove hospital at the age of 74 years. He will be missed all who knew him. Carl was born September 19, 1936 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to his parents, Raymond Cecil and Bertha (Eaton) Garner. He graduated from Pawnee schools and then served our country in the US Army. Carl married the love of his life Mary Rhodes on August 17, 1957 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. They were blessed with one son, Kevin, during their marriage of 53 years. Carl and his family lived in Tulsa then Mannford and then retired to Grove in 1983. Carl worked as a machinist for Flint Steel in Tulsa, and upon moving to Grove, Wayne Burt's Machine Shop. He loved to hunt and fish as well as garden. He enjoyed the 10 years he coached Little League baseball, and most of all, loved spending time with his grandson, Forrest, his pride and joy. Carl is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold. He leaves many wonderful loving memories with his family, wife, Mary; son Kevin and wife Dixie; grandson, Forrest; sister, Lois Skidgel and her family; brothers, Lloyd, Wayne, Melvin, and Ray and their families; as well as many other loving family members and a host of friends. Visitation will be 5:00 PM -7:00 PM Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday October 4, 2010 at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Mr. Doug Rainbolt will officiate. Interment will follow at Olympus Cemetery with military honors. Gentlemen serving as casket bearers are Jarrell Gary, Marc Gray, James Speer, John Gault, Danny Miller, and Dale Frederick. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
