Carl Page Griffey was born November 11, 1941, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Francis E. and Mildred K. (Page) Griffey. He passed from this life November 29, 2007 at his home in Lenapah after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was 66 years old. Carl graduated from Will Rogers High School, in Tulsa. He joined the United States Army serving from 1964 to 1966 and stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas most of the time. Carl returned to the Tulsa area and married Renee Wheat. He moved to Lenapah over 30 years ago and has lived here since. Carl overhauled welders for many years retiring after the birth of his grand-daughter. He loved her very much and wanted to spend as much time as he could with her. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a volunteer fireman and served as Chief for a time. He enjoyed antique fire equipment and worked to keep it operating and supported the Fire Department as much as possible. He will truly be missed by all who ever met him. Preceding Mr. Griffey in death are his parents. Surviving are his son Alan Griffey, and his wife of Lenapah, granddaughter, Louella (Lou) Griffey, brother, Don Griffey, and his wife Jan, of Catoosa, niece Jan Simmons and husband John, of Ft. Gibson, many other relatives friends and loved ones.
