Carl Dean Ogden, Jr., 62-year-old former Sarasota, Florida resident passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008 at his home in Tulsa. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Ogden will be held at 2:00p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the Memorial Park Cemetery. On-line condolences can be left for the family at www.honoringmemories.com. Carl Dean Ogden, Jr. was born July 9, 1946 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Carl Ogden and Iva Jane Cullison-Ogden. He grew up and attended schools in Nowata and went on to attend College at Eastern State. Mr. Ogden worked for Phillips Petroleum and American Airlines before attaining a position with Owens-Corning. He worked for Owens-Corning for several years until health forced his retirement. Mr. Ogden was active in the political field as well as an active volunteer. While living in Florida, Mr. Ogden had volunteered numerous hours at the Ringling Brothers Museum. Mr. Ogden is survived by his mother, Iva Jeane Ogden of Nowata; Vicki Ogden of Bradenton, Florida; by two sons, Brian Ogden of California and Travis Ogden and his wife Kristy of Ohio; by four daughters, Carin Schoppmeyer and her husband Marty of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Michele Barefield and her husband Brian of Ohio, Kristy Ogden and her friend Daniel of Ohio and Molly Ogden of Ohio; by grandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Barefield of Ohio, Kayla and Haley Ogden of Ohio, and Daniel Yount III of Ohio; by two brothers, Calvin "Fuzz" Ogden and his wife Diane of Nowata and Phillip Ogden and his wife Margie of Nowata; and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins. Mr. Ogden was preceded in death by his father and by his step-mother Bertha.
