Carl Trulson

Carl L. Trulson, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, formerly of Manhattan, Kansas, age 89, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007. He was born January 30, 1918 at Bavaria, Kansas, the son of Arvid Carl Gustav Trulson, and Bertha Mary Bickel Trulson. He lived at the Mariadahl Children's Home near Cleburne, Kansas from December 1925 until May 1930. He graduated from Salina High School in Salina, Kansas in 1935, and attended the University of Colorado and the University of Nebraska. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1941 through 1945, taking part in the invasions of North Africa, Sicily, Italy, southern France, and Okinawa. He married Marie S. Piazza at Lincoln, Nebraska on September 3, 1947. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1991. He was in the television service business in Lincoln, Nebraska until 1960. He was then employed by the Defense Department as an Electronic Equipment Specialist. He retired at Fort Riley, Kansas in September 1982 and made his home in Manhattan, Kansas until moving to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in July 2006. He is survived by his son Michael C. Trulson and his wife, Susan, of Lima, Peru; his daughters Cathie M. DeDonder of Manhattan, Kansas; Jeannette L. Klaus and her husband, Ed, of Eureka, Illinois; Ann C. Bell and her husband, Merle, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Inurnment will be in Sunrise Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas at a later date. Services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
