Carlton Davis, Sr., passed away at his home in Kansas, OK on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the age of 71. Carlton was born on June 22, 1942 in Colcord, OK, the son of the late Wassie Davis and Ellen (Fields) Davis. Carlton grew up in the Colcord and Kansas area where he attended school. In March of 1961, Carlton joined the United States Army where he served his country until March of 1963. On September 14, 1963 Carlton married Carolyn Sue Tiger in Stilwell, OK and to this union four children were born. Carlton and Sue resided in Catoosa most of their lives where he worked as a self employed carpenter. In the early 2000's the couple moved to Kansas, OK. Carlton enjoyed hunting, fishing, being a race car owner and was a race car fan. He also enjoyed traveling, watching OU Football and enjoyed a good joke, but most of all he loved to be around his family especially his grandkids. He was a member of the Long Prairie Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Walter Davis, Tiie Davis, and Thomas Davis; and sister Ollie Hathaway. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Sue Davis of the home; son Carlton Davis, Jr. and his wife Terri of Kansas, OK; three daughters: Shawn Davis of Tulsa, OK, Sharla Davis of Tulsa, OK, and Angie Davis of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren: Dustin Davis, Cody Davis, Hannah Houston, Alex Davis, and Amara Davis; two great grandchildren: Beau Davis, and Rylee Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Long Prairie Baptist Church on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 2PM with Deacon George Cochran and Rev. Jessie Glass, presiding. The burial will follow at the Long Prairie Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, OK on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing Carlton's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Cody Davis, Chris Johnson, Thomas Davis, Brian Davis, Sam Edelman, Robbie Henry, Ryan Cochran, and Nathan Cochran. Honorary casket bearers will be Mark Cochran, Ronnie Cochran, Brett Davis, Brent Davis, Greg Davis, Dustin Davis, Brian Wilhelm, and Roger Henry.
