Carol Foster

Carol Dean (Parks) Foster, 75, Grove resident, died at her home Sunday September 16, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born on June 21, 1937 in Toronto, KS to her parents, George M. and Cleo Jean (Venable) Parks. Carol graduated high school from Elk City, Kansas. She married the love of her life, William Keith Foster, on November 18, 1956 in Independence, KS. They celebrated 47 years of marriage until his death in 2003. She attended the Cayuga Mission Church, where she was very active in various church groups. Carol enjoyed growing flowers and working in her yard. Carol and her husband loved to travel in their RV, going boating, and spending time with family and friends. Everyone enjoyed the family pancake feeds that Carol and William hosted. Carol worked as a credit manager and then a store manager for Sears and Roebuck for over 32 years before she retired. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband; and a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Paige Thompson. Carol leaves many loving memories with her family, sons, William "Willie" and wife Andrea, and George and wife Heidi; sister, Willis Dodson; 9 grandchildren, Lindsey Renee Thompson and husband Arthur, Jake Foster, Rachael Roberts, Lacey Bresee, Emily, Shafto, Kelsey Bresee, Kate Foster, Spencer Shafto, Quinn Foster; 2 great-grandchildren, Kobe Ryan Foster and Khloe Renee Foster; and many other loving relatives. Visitation will be held 6PM -8PM Friday at Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday September 22, 2012 at Mount Hope Cemetery, 1300 North Penn Avenue, Independence, KS.
