Caroline Johnson

Caroline Marie Johnson, age 77 of Vinita, died Friday, July 27, 2012. Caroline was born in Anthon, OK (19 miles north of Clinton, OK) on February 20, 1935 to Pete and Barbara (Gassen) Klein. On October 19, 1968 she was united in marriage to Joe Johnson and together they raised three children. Caroline worked a variety of jobs in her life. She was a nun and taught school prior to marrying Joe. She also worked at First National Bank and sold Mary Kay. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, Hard Anger embroidery, playing and teaching piano, spending time with family, and helping others. She was an active member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and was a youth coordinator for many years. Survivors include her husband Joe Johnson, children: Pete Johnson of Vinita, Joey Johnson and wife Joni of Tulsa, and Barbara Childers and husband Dan of Ketchum, grandchildren: Brittany Childers, Allison Childers, Chase Childers, Parker Childers, Julie Childers, Jaden Johnson and Chloe Johnson, siblings: Adolph Klein and wife Rita of El Reno, Loretta Lovelace of Yukon, OK, and Elizabeth Ruyle of Clinton, OK, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Pete and Barbara Klein, and siblings: Christine Odower, Genevieve McGoffen, Hilda Fimple Spencer, Agatha Klein, Peter Klein, and Barbara Klein. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Father Alex Kennedy officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
