Carroll Wall

Carroll T. "Barney" Wall passed away Friday evening, December 3, 2010, at Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. He was born on October 24, 1922 in Monticello, Arkansas, to George Washington and Viola (Trantham) Wall. He graduated from Monticello High School .He served in the Pacific and was a member of the U.S. Army, playing in the Army band, during WWII. After the war while living in California he enjoyed playing in band with the Big Band sound. His love for that sound and style of music was a life long event. He married Marjorie Frank and she preceded him in death. He married Lucille Montgomery and she too preceded him in death. "Barney" worked in the Nowata County Assessor's office as a deputy assessor. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a step-son, Mike Montgomery, step-daughter, Sandy Montgomery, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by a son, Craig Wall, a sister, Bernice Sumrall, Peorie, AZ, Family friend and former daughter-in-law, Christina Young, Collinsville, OK, Grandchildren; Megan McDonald and Laura McDonald both of Modesto, CA, Taylor Montgomery and Reece Montgomery, Claremore, OK, Great Grandchildren; Alana Pitts, Modesto, CA, Kash Montgomery, Topeka, KS, and Nataleigh Montgomery, Claremore, OK. Funeral services will be held 10:00A.M. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the Benjamin Funeral Chapel, Nowata, OK. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Nowata, OK. Benjamin Funeral Service has been entrusted to conduct the services.
