Catherine Louise (Glaze) Lilburn passed away on Friday December 7, 2007, in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was born in Ada, Oklahoma on July 25, 1928 and moved with her family to Nowata in 1939. She graduated from Nowata High School in May 1946 and Married World War II veteran Jack H. Lilburn on August 11, 1946. Louise and her husband attended NEO A&M in Miami, Oklahoma, and then moved to Norman where her husband received a degree in Chemical Engineering. Jack's work took them to homes in East Texas, Borger and Pasadena Texas. They them moved east to Stamford, Connecticut and on to Mountain Lakes, N.J. where each of their five children graduated from the school system. They retired to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida in 1986 and moved back to Nowata in 2004. Louise became an avid golfer after retiring to Florida and was a staunch supporter of the Oak Bridge Club at Sawgrass. She served as President of the Oak Bridge Ladies Golf Association at various times and for many years was the Chair of the annual Blue Heron Tournament, which drew women from up and down the east coast each autumn. Louise was an excellent gourmet cook. She was and accomplished seamstress, making clothes (in some instances wedding dresses fro her daughter and daughter's in law's to be), and making draperies for each of the houses she and her family occupied using skills learned from her mother and from her activities as a 4-H club member. Louise had an outgoing, friendly, optimistic nature and made many friends at each of the places that she lived during her lifetime. She was a loving wife, a faithful friend and a protective, living and supportive mother to her five children. Louise was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie A. Glaze, her father, Olin Y. Glaze and her brother, Gordon Glaze. Survivors include her husband Jack H. Lilburn, of the home, sons; Andy and wife Melissa, of Prattville, Al.; Robert and wife Jan, of Boonton, N.J.; daughter Lisa Lilburn, of St. Peters, Mo.; sons Steven and wife Carrie, of Princeton, Ma.; and John and wife Sarah of Missoula, Mt.; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
