Cecil "Toot" Hester 86, of Nowata passed away at 7:45 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2008 in the Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center. Cecil was born on October 15, 1921 in Old Alluwe, Oklahoma to Frank and Agnes (Stanart) Hester. He married Nadeen Tomlinson on March 1, 1948 in Bartlesville, together they raised six children. Cecil enjoyed and made his living as a cattle and horse rancher. He loved to go to livestock auctions and horse races. Cecil enjoyed watching wrestling and coon hunting. His greatest enjoyment was his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild. Cecil loved his family and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years Nadeen Hester, his six children Dawn and her husband Roy Adams of Delaware, Linda and her husband JD Elkins of Bartlesville, Frank Hester of Ramona, Cecil and his wife Jan Hester of Skiatook, Bill and his wife Regina Hester of Nowata and Patty and her husband Denzal Hathcoat of Nowata, 20 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 2 sisters Shirley Reed and Rosie Dooley, 1 brother Gene Hester, 2 sister-in-laws Dorothy Edison and Hester Grissom, 1 brother-in-law Chester Tomlinson, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Agnes Hester, 2 brothers Smith "Nook" Hester and Wheeler Hester, 1 sister Tenee McGrew and 1 grandson Michael Plummer. Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008 in the Benjamin Chapel with Gene Hester officiating. Final committal rites will be accorded Mr. Hester in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata. Casket bearers for Mr. Hester are Cecil "Jr" Hester, Keith Hester, Scott Hester, Tim Vann, Rick Vann, Travis Taylor, Tim Taylor, Todd Taylor, Danny Hester and Garrett Hester. Honorary casket bearers are Dan Stiles, Albert Lumm, and Raymond Wilson. Memorial contributions can be made in Cecil's name to the 1033 Ambulance Service in Nowata.
