Charlene Faye Johnson, 73, of Jay, Oklahoma died Friday, August 22, 2008 at Integris grove General Hospital. She was born May 22, 1935 in Maysville, Oklahoma to Virgil Lee Abercrombie and pearl stone Abercrombie. Charlene loved music and was a fiddle player. She also was an avid horseback rider. She is survived by her three sons, Russell Johnson, Mark Johnson and wife Brenda, and Grant Johnson and wife Dora all of Jay; four sisters, Molly Morgan, Callie Morgan both of Roseburg, Oregon, Josephine Smith of Bakersfield, California, and Betty Swain of Decatur, Arkansas; two brothers, John Abercrombie and wife Irene of Jay, and Buck Abercrombie and wife Nadine of Hood River, Oregon; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog "Zeke". In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Humane Society of Grove and Grand Lake, A memorial gathering celebrating the life of Charlene Johnson will be on Saturday, August 30, 2008 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. The family suggests informal attire. Private inurnment will take place at Mt. Hermon Cemetery, east of Jay, Oklahoma. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay, Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements.
