Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Grove, OK (918) 786- 2261 - Charles E. "Perry" Baty, seven days before his 93rd birthday, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Grove Nursing Center in Grove, Oklahoma. Perry was born on July 30, 1922, he was the son of Timothy W. and Hallie Mary (Sixkiller) Baty. Perry proudly served during WWII as a Sergeant of Company F, known as the Rail Spitters, 333rd Infantry in the United States Army. He received FAME Theater Ribbon, two bronze starts, WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Purple Heart, and one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster. Perry married the love of his life Lillie Meadows on May 23, 1942 in the Jay, OK at the jail house, which is why Perry was always proud to call her "his jail-house bride ~ with a life time warranty". Even after nearly losing his arm during a work related accident, Perry continued to work for 34 years until his retirement from B.F. Goodrich. He loved to tinker in his garage, being on his tractor and most of all time spent with family and friends. He and Lillie loved their Saturday night singings and get to gathers, Perry was a devoted Christian and was instrumental in starting the Nazarene Church in Grove. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Leslie Baty, Earl Baty, Francis Baty, one sister Shelly Baty, one grandson, Jeremiah Baty and son-in law David Brodrick. He is survived by his wife Lillie Baty, three children; Charles B. Baty of Superior, MT, H.L. "Lawrence" Baty of Redmond, OR, and Evelyn Brodrick of Grove, OK and one brother Everett Baty of Coweta, OK. Perry was blessed with 10 grandchildren; David Baty, Charlene Gooding (Travis), June Goodman, Charles F. Baty (Becky), Saundja Suttle, Leah Sullivan, Jannaeah Duncan, Sunni Porter (David), Jeremy Brodrick (Jennifer) and Jeffrey Brodrick (Sissy) and 23 Great Grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Delaware Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Bishop officiating. Perry will be laid to rest at Olympus Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8PM, Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
