Charles Franklin Epple, age 67, a longtime resident of Nowata, died Saturday February 2, 2008 at his home in Nowata. Charles Franklin Epple was born in Claremore, Ok on February 17, 1940 the son of James Barney Epple and Elena Fern (Kniffen) Epple. He was raised and educated in the Talala and Nowata area and attended the Nowata High School. After graduation Charles joined the National Guard before serving in the United State Navy. He was a trained mechanic and worked for H&H Dodge. Charles then worked for McCleandon Drilling for 19 years before retiring. Charles will be remembered for his helpful nature, often times mowing other peoples yards and then spending time with them and visiting. Another one of his passions was fishing. Charles loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed. Charles is survived by four children, Laura Nuncio of Wichita, Kansas, Sonja Badillo of El Dorado, Kansas, Chuck Epple Jr. of Nowata and Jimmy Epple of Dewey, one brother, John Epple and his wife Patricia of Dewey, one sister, Juanita Anders and her husband Herman of Nowata, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Elena Epple, one son Kenneth Dewayne Epple, one brother James Melloy Epple and three sisters, Delores Lay, Bonnie Spurgeon and Cecilia Elliott.
