GROVE, Okla. - Charles Alvie Love, 61, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at his home in Grove, Okla. He was born April 10, 1948, to Robert T. and Pauline (Broughton) Love in Seminole, Okla. He married Ozina Katharine Dixon April 21, 1973, in Liberal, Kan. She survives. He graduated from high school in Tyrone, Okla., in 1966. He served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 in the 101st Airborne (Air Mobile). He was a recipient of the Bronze Star medal, the SIGC, SP4, NDSM, EX M14, VSM, ARCOM, RVCM, and 2 0/S Bars. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Liberal, Winfield and Kansas City, Kan. He retired from AT&T (Southwestern Bell Telephone) in 2003 after 30 years of service. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a private pilot, a Ham radio operator, a storm spotter volunteer, avid hunter, car enthusiast, and motorcyclist. He is also survived by three brothers, Philip Love and wife, Lilla, Tyrone, Okla., John T. Love, Turpin, Okla., and Robert Love Jr. and wife, Kristi, Guymon, Okla.; four sisters, Carolyn Gonzales and husband, Edward, Derby, Kaye Christensen and husband, Rod, Hattiesburg, Miss., Roberta Bridenstine and husband, Galen, Turpin, Okla., and Virginia Hinton and husband, Jerry, Liberal; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Okla. Memorials are suggested to the Vietnam Veterans of America, 3027 Walnut, Kansas City, MO 64108.
