Charles Swogger

Charles "Buck" Swogger, lifetime Zena, Oklahoma Resident passed away Friday November 26, 2010. Buck was born on October 18, 1935 in Zena, Oklahoma to John an Marilla (Edwards) Swogger. He graduated from Grove High School in 1953, and was a painter, carpenter and jack of all trades most of his life. An active outdoors-man, Buck hunted and fished, especially deer and catfish, as well being a good cowboy, but above all else, he was a family man who always made time for his kids, grandchildren, and loving wife. Buck married Norma Jean (Hodge) on December 13, 1967 at the First Baptist church in Grove, Oklahoma. Buck proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Buck was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters. Buck is survived by his wife Norma Jean of the home, four children, Charlie Keith Swogger of Grove, Oklahoma, Lloyd Hetherington of Van Arcy, India, Jeannie Hetherington of Zena, Oklahoma, and Sandi and husband Tim, of Zena, Oklahoma, a brother, two sisters, five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Zena Baptist Church in Zena, Oklahoma, Reverend. Rick Thomas will officiate. Serving as casket bearers will be John Carpenter, Charlie Keith Swogger, Dakota Swogger, Jake Swogger Tony Hadley, Terry Simms and Charlie Williams as an honorary casket bearer. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove, Oklahoma.
