Charlotte Ann (Whitford) Kincaide passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born December 3, 1922 in Nowata, OK to Charles A. and Esther (Holt) Whitford. She was educated in Nowata and was a 1940 graduate of Nowata High School. She continued her education at Oklahoma A&M (OSU) where she earned a Bachelor of Education degree and was a Redskin Beauty and a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Charlotte later earned her Masters of Education with an English major at Fort Hays College, in Fort Hays Kansas. Charlotte taught at several schools including Helena, Oklahoma, Fairfax, Oklahoma, and Nowata. From 1953 to 1966 she worked for Dr.'s Barnes and Elliott at their medical practice. Charlotte went on to work at Oklahoma State University as the Veterinarian Medicine admissions coordinator. Upon her retirement from OSU a scholarship, "Charlotte's Kitty" was established in honor of her service to the Veterinary School. She moved to Bixby where she lived for 13 years before moving back to Nowata. Charlotte was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Nowata, and was also a Nowata Historical Society Board member. She was an accomplished pianist and loved animals, and the beauty of nature and God's creation here on earth. For the past 7 years she has lived in Sand Springs. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. She held a special place in her heart for her family. Charlotte touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her. Charlotte is survived by three children, Stephen Francis Kincaide and his wife Lisa of Nowata, Lonetta Ann Sprague and her husband Robert of Cleveland, OK, KC Kincaide and his wife Jackie of Spring, TX, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William C. Whitford, and a sister, Beulah Alderson.
