ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK - Chester "Chet" Mueller, age 91, and longtime resident of Bartlesville, passed away on March 5, 2016 in Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville. Chester William Mueller was born on December 25, 1924 in Stafford, Kansas. He was the son of William Ernest Mueller and Anna (Bill) Mueller. He was raised in Hamilton County in Western Kansas. He attended Colorado Springs Bible College where he received his Associate degree. He furthered his education by attending Friends University in Wichita, Kansas receiving his Bachelor's degree. He also received a Master's of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky. On October 14, 1945 Chet and Charlotte Glynola Coleman were united in marriage in Syracuse, Kansas. Chet preached in Lakin, Kansas for 16 years before moving to Bartlesville in 1976. In Lakin and in Syracuse, Kansas, he built two parsonages, as well as a Wesleyan church in Lakin and one in St. Charles, Missouri. He was the Tri-State District Building coordinator for Wesleyan church. Chet and Charlotte moved to Bartlesville in 1976, where he built houses and worked for Bartlesville Wesleyan University in Development for the school. Chet and Charlotte were married for 62 years prior to her death in 2007. Chet was a member of First Wesleyan Church, Bartlesville. He was a volunteer/calling pastor and he and Charlotte managed the nursery for many years. Chet enjoyed crossword puzzles, loved westerns and Andy Griffith shows and Matlock. He also enjoyed Lawrence Welk shows, the Virginian, as well as Fox News. Chet is survived by his children, Gwynn Grindstaff of Bartlesville, Annette Rosentrater of Anchorage, Alaska, Evangeline Baxter of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Kathleen Cones of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Violet Jones of Syracuse, Kansas; three brothers, Calvin Mueller, Bill Mueller and Don Mueller (all of Colorado, Springs, Colorado); and one adopted sister, Irene Weitert of Oskoloosa, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlotte; three sisters, Carolyn Coy, Evelyn Buck, Shirley Mueller; and by four brothers, Ted, Leonard, David, and Duane Mueller. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been set up in Chet's name with The Gideons International, P.O. Box 3143, Bartlesville, OK 74006-3143; First Wesleyan Church, 1776 Silverlake Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006; and Oklahoma Wesleyan University, 2201 Silverlake Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006. Come and go visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM in Bartlesville Wesleyan Church. Pastor Joe Colaw will officiate with Pastor Ken Rosentrater assisting. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
