Clara Lee Butcher, 62 year old Vinita resident, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born on May 31, 1953 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Talmage Wayne Bowlin and Ida Jean Huff Bowlin. Clara was a graduate of Ponca City High School and had attended Beauty College in Ponca City as well. On July 30, 1971 she united in marriage to Jimmy Lee Butcher in Ponca City at her family's home, they made their home in Vinita. Clara worked for UPS for 25 years before retiring, she was currently the Assistant Manager of the Craig County 911. She was a member of the Craig County Baptist Church, the Vinita Lions Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Clara enjoyed her flower garden, cooking, arts and crafts, and mostly being around her family. Preceding her in death were her parents, and a nephew, Jason Bowlin. The family includes: her husband Jimmy of the home, children, Michelle Kelso and husband Greg of Sand Springs, Scott Butcher of Tulsa; grandchildren, Stephanie and Daniel Kelso; siblings, Kenneth Bowlin and wife Candy of Sapulpa, Jack Bowlin of Idaho, Judy Preston and husband Carlos of Melton, Florida; in-laws, Steve and Paula L. Butcher of Vinita, Barbara and Rick Rider of Oglesby; Aunts, Colleen Doerflinger and husband Jay of Vinita, Clara Bell Southerland of Tulsa; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita. The funeral will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita, with Pastor Claud Strong officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Friends may give to the Craig County Cancer Outreach, care of First National Bank in Vinita.
