Clarance Cole

Grove, OK - Clarance "Chuck" Cole, 72, died Friday, January 26, 2007 at Grove Nursing Center. Chuck was born June 17, 1934 at Fayetteville, Arkansas to Charles Clinton Cole and Mary Ann (Kastle) Cole. He grew up in Fayetteville and was a 1952 graduate of Fayetteville High School. After high school, Chuck was a member of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1954-1961 earning the National Defense, Korean and United Nations Service Medals. He married Carol Hodge on March 22, 1958 at Cardin, Oklahoma and the couple had three children, Lou, Chuck and Mary Jo. Shortly after he and Carol were married, the couple moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Chuck worked as a salesman for Firestone Tire Company and OTASCO Stores. In 1977, he moved to the Grove area working as a security guard for the Coves at Bird Island for about 20 years. Chuck was also a Reserve Police Officer for Grove PD. In 1981, Chuck married Cleona Colleen Hansen. She preceded him in death. He loved football, especially his Arkansas Razorbacks and enjoyed watching his grandsons play for the Grove Ridgerunners. Chuck also enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Survivors are three children, Lou Karleskint and her husband, Chris of Grove, Chuck Cole and his wife, Laurie of Springdale, Arkansas and Mary Jo Cole of Joplin, Missouri; six grandchildren, Chase Karleskint, USN of Norfolk, Virginia, Nicholas Karleskint and his wife, Megan of Grove, Aaron, Megan and Ethan Cole, all of Joplin and Cassidy Cole of Springdale; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Karleskint of Grove, and one brother, George Cole of Grove. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove. Committal rites will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday in Fairview Memorial Gardens of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
