Claude Velmer Hollenback, 84, of Jay, Oklahoma, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at Monroe Nursing Center in Jay, Oklahoma following an extended illness. He was born March 26, 1923 near Lamar, Colorado to Benjamin Franklin Hollenback and Lydia Dennis. Claude was married to Alta Hendren on March 15, 1941 in Delaware County, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in June of 2001. He was a carpenter in the construction industry. He was preceded in death by: his parents, brothers and sisters: Erve, George, Harold, Leonard, Mike and Elmer Hollenback, Melissa Johnson and Dorothy Coker; a grand daughter Leca Jo Harris. Claude is survived by his children: Betty Turner and Tommy of Decatur, Arkansas, Jim Hollenback and Cathy of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, Barbara Barnes and Barney of Eucha, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Dale Harris, Jamie Stewart, Tina Denny, Leah Jo Morgan, Penny Kumm, Jimmie Hollenback, Jason Hollenback, Bill and Ben Barnes; great-grandchildren: Michael Harris, LeDale Harris, Terrell Denny, Brittany Denny, Cody Kumm, Courtney Kumm, Shelby Stewart, Danni Jo Stewart, Jacob Morgan, Taylor Morgan, Kaden Morgan, Jimmie L. Hollenback, Hadlee Hollenback, Emigail Barnes and Lydia Barnes. There are also three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services for Claude Hollenback will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Jay, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Rowe Cemetery in Colcord, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2007 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Worley-Luginbuel funeral Home of Jay is in Charge of arrangements.
