Claudean Myers

Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma -- 918-273-2700 Claudean Myers was called home by the Lord on January 24, 2017. Claudean was born in the small community of Childers Oklahoma, on November 5, 1922. She was the oldest of the Davis children. Having two brothers, she learned growing up with males can be quite difficult; however, when she had two boys of her own, the experiences served her well. Claudean grew up on a farm with her mother and father, and after graduating high school in 1940, she attended Hill's business School in Oklahoma City. After attending a year of business school, she moved to Los Angeles to work in a war plant. After the war, Claudean found herself in Nowata, OK, and that is where she met G.L. Myers, Jr. They were married on September 15, 1946 at Nowata United Methodist Church. After being married for a couple of years, Claudean had her first baby Gary and then nineteen months later she had Glenn. After some years home with the boys, Claudean went to work for The First National Bank of Nowata, and thereafter for the Departement of Human Services. She retired in 1988. She was a member at Nowata United Methodist, a member of the La-Kee-Kon and an avid walker with her best friend, Marge. Claudean loved to travel, and be around family; it was quite possibly the best time in her life. She was a wonderful woman, that will be missed by so many. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Margaret and her brother, Howard Davis. She is survived by her husband G.L. Myers, Jr, her sons Gary Myers, wife Deborah, Glenn Myers, wife Susan, brother Bill Davis. Claudean is further survived by many nieces and nephews, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
