Claudine Stumbo

Claudine Evelyn (Evans) Stumbo, 89, a resident of Grove passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Integris Grove General Hospital. She was born on May 17, 1918 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to Claud and Pearl (Thornhill) Evans. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1935 and then from Cottey College in Nevada, MO in 1937. Claudine married Ralph Stumbo in Joplin, MO on December 30, 1950. Mrs. Stumbo was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove, Order of the Eastern Star, chapter 209; she was a past president of the Pilot Club of Joplin. She retired as a business office supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1973. Survivors include her husband of the home Ralph Stumbo, a step-daughter Ann Olsen of Joplin, MO along with many nieces, nephews and other special friends. There will be an hour of visitation on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be 11:30 AM Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Grove with Reverend Randy Hamill officiating. Interment will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, MO under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
