Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home (918)336-5225 Bartlesville, OK Corinne Chambers was born August 8, 1935 in Broken Arrow, OK to Clarence and Maggie Burgess. She moved to Bartlesville from Vinita, OK with her mother, sisters and brother: Mary "Mae" Ellen, Sarah Lee and William "Bill" when she was in the sixth grade. She attended Douglass School in Bartlesville, OK. Corinne married Harland "Pony" Chambers in 1953 and they continued to reside in Bartlesville with their four children: Gwen, Harland "Ron", Brenda and Steven. Corinne was a lifelong learner who valued education. She was involved in her own children's education as well as working with other community members to ensure that children of color had access to the best education. Corinne was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church and belonged to several auxiliary clubs and other local organizations. She spent her life time doing catering and domestic work. Corinne was a true Angel and a blessing to many. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Corinne was always willing to give and put other's needs before her own. She loved sports; her favorite being basketball and tennis. Her favorite past time included spending time with her family and playing the "Lucky Ducks." Corinne is survived by her husband Harland, daughters Gwendolyn Maxwell of Tulsa, OK, Brenda Chambers of Bartlesville, OK and son Steven (Sandra) Chambers of Oklahoma City and daughter-in-law Leatta June Taylor of Bartlesville, OK. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 24 great grand -children and 6 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her, brother William Burgess (Verna) of Bartlesville, OK, her sister Sarah Lee Jefferson of Lawton, OK and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Corinne is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Maggie Burgess, sister, Mary Ellen Burgess, and son Harland Laron Chambers.
