Dale Irven Litchfield, Jr. 49 year-old resident of Claremore, passed away on September 11, 2011. Dale was born September 2, 1962 to Dale Irven and Mary Jane (Brooks) Litchfield. Dale was an apprentice in the Masonic Lodge, an avid fisherman and enjoyed online gaming, skydiving and riding his BMW motorcycle. Much of his adult life was dedicated to caring for his grandmother, Jean Brooks who lived in the Grand Lake area and lived to see 100 years. A highlight of each year was a family trip to various destinations around the US. Dale worked in the technology industry most of his work life but also was an accomplished welder and carpenter following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He lived and worked outside Disney, Oklahoma until 2009 when he moved to Claremore to be near his sister. The family includes: his sisters, Diana Litchfield of Claremore, Jan Babiak and husband Brian of Nashville, Tennessee; Angela Blevins and other cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a younger brother, D. C. Litchfield in 2008. The graveside committal will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 15, 2011 at the Ketchum Cemetery. In accordance with his wishes, a Celebration Bonfire will be held to honor his life. The Bonfire will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 near Sapulpa at the home of his life-long friend, Robert Stamford.
