Dale Litchfield, Sr. Obituary Disney, OK - Dale Irven Litchfield, Sr., 69, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at St. John Medical Center, Joplin, Missouri. Dale was born August 8, 1938 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Rollen Thomas Litchfield and Margie Mae (Harrison) Litchfield. He grew up in the Wynnewood, Oklahoma area and was a draftsman in the U.S. Army reserve. Dale married Mary Jane Brooks on October 8, 1956 at Southwest City, Missouri. The couple had four children together and Mrs. Litchfield preceded Dale in death in 1991. He was a self-employed entrepreneur. Dale was a bridge builder, computer tech and a general contractor before retiring in 2000. He moved to the Disney, Oklahoma area from Texas in 1995 and was very active in the First Baptist Church of Disney. Dale was a Sunday School teacher, lay minister, Trustee and held several other positions in the church. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and was active in a COPD support group. Dale was an accomplished computer guru, specializing in older home computer systems. He enjoyed fishing and his annual rattlesnake hunting trips with his sons to Okeene, Oklahoma. Survivors are his children, Jan Babiak and her husband, Brian of London, England, Diana Litchfield of Claremore, Oklahoma, Dale Litchfield, Jr. of Disney, Oklahoma and D.C. Litchfield of Honolulu, Hawaii; a mother-in-law, Janis "Jean" Brooks of Jay, Oklahoma; brother, Joe Thomas Litchfield and his wife, Dorothy of Ardmore, Oklahoma; two sisters, Betty Lee Pankey and her husband, Alex of Roswell, New Mexico and Opal Jane Blevins and her husband, Larry of Springtown, Texas; and his cat, Smokey. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Alan Ray Litchfield. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Disney First Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Hood officiating. Interment will be in Ketchum Cemetery, Ketchum, Oklahoma, under the direction of Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home, Langley. Friends may call until 8 p.m., Friday at Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral and the family suggests donations be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, Disney, Oklahoma.
