Dannie Mae Jones, age 91 of Grove, died Friday, December 3, 2010. Dannie Mae was born in Spavinaw, OK on February 22, 1919, the daughter of Thomas and Ada (Jackson) Kay. She was Salutatorian of Pensacola school her 8th grade year. On June 25, 1934 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Henry Jones and together they raised six children. Dannie Mae was a strong woman in all aspects of her life. She worked hard and showed love and care to everyone she met. She was a loving mother not only to her children but others as well. She was also an active member of the Church of Christ of Jay. Survivors include her children: Jim Jones and wife Donna of Miami, Shirley Alton and husband Gene of Yukon, A. Richard Jones and wife Davia of Norman, Robert Jones and wife Judy of Oklahoma City, Susie Tuomala of Splitlog, MO, and Cathy Tuomala and husband Ed of Grove, siblings: Dr. Felix Kay and wife Karen of Oklahoma City, Kendall Kay of Burleson, TX, Sue McKisick of Vinita, Earlene Curtis and husband Charles of Adair, Margaret Jones of Oklahoma City, Pat Mitchell and husband Bill of Erving, TX, and Janis Scott of Spring, TX as well as 26 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry Jones, and brothers Gene Kay, Roy Kay, Louis Kay, and Tommy Kay. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel in Vinita with Minister Kenny Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Big Cabin Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
