Darrell Falling

February 19, 1953 — July 7, 2018

Darrell Luke Falling was born on February 19, 1953 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was the son of Louie Edward Falling and Johnnie Lee (Taylor) Falling. He lived in the Broken Arrow/Tulsa area before joining the USMC in 1971 serving in Washington State, Okinawa, Japan and North Carolina. After completing his honorable service, he moved to Barnsdall in 1977. After completing his training as an industrial and commercial electrician in 1979, Darrell and his family lived in Tulsa and its surrounding communities before moving back to Barnsdall in 1985. Darrell was a member of the First Christian Church, Barnsdall. He taught Tai Chi at the Barnsdall Community Center and he enjoyed the martial arts very much. He was a member of the American Legion and was always very active in various functions of the Barnsdall Community Center. He enjoyed fishing and playing the flute and he was very proud of his Cherokee heritage. Darrell is survived by his four children, Chris Falling of Boston, Massachusetts, T. J. Falling and his wife, Kimberly, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Jennifer Ashlock and her husband, Keith, of Barnsdall and Ahyoka Falling of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Adrian Ashlock and Abbey Ashlock; two brothers, Steve Falling and his wife, JoKay, of Peggs, Oklahoma, and Tim Falling and his wife, Starr, of Broken Arrow; and other relatives and many friends. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Vicki.
