Darrell Nichols

Darrell Gene "Nick" Nichols, age 61, of Vinita, OK died at his home on Sunday October 11, 2009. He was born on October 20, 1947 in Ainsworth, NE the son of Lynn Spencer Nichols and Nila Faye Wellman Nichols. He graduated from Broken Bow, Nebraska High School in 1966. On May 9, 1976 he was united in marriage to Brenda Bostock. Together they raised two children. Nick was a cowboy most his life. He was a member of Bunker Hill Baptist Church since 1987 and worked for the county ten years as a grader operator. He liked auctions, attending rodeos, yard sales, training horses, enjoyed playing the guitar, writing songs and working on the ranch. He was a very caring and giving person, his family came first and his friends meant the world to him. Nick leaves behind his wife Brenda of the home, his parents, two children Brandi Nichols of Nashville, TN and Justin Nichols of New Orleans, LA, two brothers Daniel and his wife Rebekah Nichols of Overton, NE, Larry and Cindy Nichols of St. Louis, MO and a brother in law, Llew Matthews of Los Angeles, CA. He is preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Matthews and brother Donald Nichols. Visitation will be Tuesday October 13, 2009 from 6-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday October 14, 2009 at the Bunker Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Dean Williams officiating.
