Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma, 918-253-3222. Ronald "David" Hamby, 77 year old resident of Jay, Oklahoma, died on October 23rd, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on October 10th, 1940 in Laguna Beach, California, he was youngest of six brothers and the son of Elbert and Elizabeth Hamby. David graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He married Phyllis Phillips on August 25th, 1967. David started two businesses in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Precision Coatings Inc. He owed from 1970-2002 (32 years) and Southwest Seals from 1987-2002 (23 years). David and Phyllis lived in Catoosa, Oklahoma during this time where David also served on the school board at Catoosa Public Schools. In 2001 David retired and moved to Jay, Oklahoma where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, family fish fry's and watching football. David continued to work around the home during retirement. He believed in hard work, he felt it important to accomplish something positive everyday. David was preceded in death by parents, Elbert and Elizabeth Hamby; and three brothers, JB Hamby, Wayne Hamby, Junior Hamby; and grandson Austin Ryan Hamby. David is survived by wife, Phyllis Hamby of the home; two brothers, Glen Hamby and wife Carmaleta of Jay, Bill Hamby and wife Rena of Jay; one son, Scott Hamby and wife Meagan of Jay; one granddaughter Paige Hamby. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8pm, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Jay. Grave side services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Hamby Family Cemetery in Colcord, Oklahoma, with Pastor Jeremy Colvard officiating.
