David M. Henderson was born August 5, 1930 in rural Columbus, Kansas. He was the son of Walter and Emma (McMahan) Henderson. Dave grew up in Columbus, Kansas. He graduated from West Mineral High School. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and served four years in Limestone, Maine. He worked at B.F. Goodrich in Miami, Oklahoma for 30 years retiring when the plant closed. Dave had five brothers and three sisters, all preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Emily; four children, Cristie Boulware and husband Kim of Cherokee, Kansas, Don Henderson of Grove, Oklahoma, Ron Henderson and wife Ellen of Ventura, California, Randy Henderson and wife Sara of Holden, Missouri; special granddaughter, Hilary Guthrie and Corey; special son, Kenny; daughter-in-law, Kathy; and thirteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dave fought a very strong fight against cancer for seven months. He lost the fight Saturday, February 02, 2008, going home to be with his Lord as the sun rose from the heavens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2008 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove. The funeral will be Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m., at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove with Rev. Carol Holden and Chaplain Darwin King officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery, Columbus, Kansas. Pallbearers will be Al Pharris, Fred Conway, Rick Littlefield, Howard Scofield, Paul Elrod and Henry Frellick.
