David Denny Whitcomb, passed away at the Integris Grove General Hospital on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the age of 71. David was born March 7, 1941 in Quinlan, OK, the son of the late Denzil Rex Whitcomb and Etta Irene (Young) Whitcomb. David attended and graduated from Udall High School in Udall, KS. After high school he joined the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era. David also served in the Reserves totaling his military career to 10 years of service before being totally 100 percent disabled from the service. David married Sue Harding in Wichita, KS on March 31, 1968. They leaved in Eureka, KS for 8 years before moving to the Grove area in 1984. David enjoyed mechanics, looking through salvage yards, going to car shows and loved his animals but most of all he loved to be with his wife Sue and his son Dan. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sue of the home; one son Dan Whitcomb of Wyandotte, OK; one brother Jim Whitcomb of Shell Knob, MO; one sister Cathy Germann of Wichita, KS; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Robert Roark, presiding. The burial will follow at the Council House Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5PM to 7PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK on Friday, December 28, 2012. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing David's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be the Grove Ritual Team. Honorary casket bearers will be Ricky Germann, Mark Whitcomb, Chris Whitcomb, Marty Harding, and Brian Harding.
