Dean K. Owens was born on July 24, 1938 and left peacefully on September 7, 2021. He was raised in Kendrick, Oklahoma by his grandparents Noni and Robert Foster.
As a young man Dean joined the U.S. Navy where he served for several years.
After his service, he married his wife Janice in Newton, Kansas in March of 1963. They were married 58 years and had 3 beautiful daughters together.
He worked many years in the meat packing industry and retired in 1995. His jobs took him and his family all over the country. In his free time, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, and hunting. During his retirement he finally settled in Whippoorwill, OK. Here he was able to fish and hunt to his heart’s content. He was able to make friends anywhere he went and leaves friends all over. They all describe him as a loving man who would do anything for the people he cared for.
Dean is survived by his wife Janice Owens(Smith); His daughters Robin(Harvey) Johnson of Peabody, KS, Diana(Jeff) Boucher of Clearwater, KS, and Jennifer(Bridger) Speer-Cloud of Whippoorwill, OK; Grandchildren Jason, Andrew (Jackie), Dennis (Natasha), Christopher, Brandon, Becky (Billy), Tia (Jherimyah), Trentin (Ashleigh); and great grandchildren Aaden, Maddie, Haley, Ainsley, Chase. He also leaves behind many adopted children and grandchildren who he loved as his own. He was proceeded in death by both his grandparents and grandson Jerry.
