Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555......... (Anna) Marie Deffenbaugh, 72, entered her Heavenly home on October 12, 2015 following a sudden illness. Born September 28, 1943 to Milo and Iva (Victory) Robison, Marie graduated from Chelsea High School where she excelled in academics and basketball. She married David Deffenbaugh on May 29, 1964 in Chelsea. The newlyweds made their home in Vinita as she worked for the Bank of Chelsea and he for Public Service Company of Oklahoma. In David's service to PSO, the couple lived in Hinton, Anadarko, Hugo, and Verdigris. During those years, Marie was his help-mate traveling to countless meetings, preparing food for crews during outages, and even dispatching service calls in the early years. Marie was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation and celebrated her heritage weaving, and teaching others to weave, Cherokee baskets. Marie would research and gather natural materials to make dye for baskets and was proud to have her baskets shown and sold across Oklahoma. She was very knowledgeable about genealogy, keeping extensive records on her family and helping others research theirs. Marie and David loved to travel with Marie visiting all but 2 of the 50 states. For several years she coordinated the Prime Time Senior Club at First National Bank in Vinita. She was talented in needlework, cooking, and cake decorating. She enjoyed playing golf and watching sports cheering for the Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and whoever was playing against the Dallas Cowboys. Marie is survived by husband David, daughter Misty and husband Mark Bingham of Vinita, and grandsons Riley and Brady Bingham. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and Nana. She was an avid supporter of their activities and sports. Whether it was sewing dance costumes, running lines of high school plays, baking and decorating cakes, caring for her grandsons, giving Riley pointers on shooting free throws or Brady t-ball lessons, she strove for perfection. Marie is also survived by siblings Jessie Penick of Lawton, sister-in-law Barbara Robison of Big Cabin, Wilma Fraley and husband George of Chelsea, Stan Robison and wife Virginia of Rocky, OK and Sue Milam and husband John of Chelsea. She is also survived by sister-in-laws Bonnie Deffenbaugh of Adair, Louise Smith of Pryor, Jan Deffenbaugh of Claremore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends Nina and Jack Frazier. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Robison, infant brother Lonnie Ray, and nephew Robert Aaron Penick. In lieu of flowers, the family asks monetary donations be made in her memory to the Vinita Public Library Genealogy section or the Vinita High School Tip-in Club.
