Big Cabin - Della I. Harlan, 95, died Thursday afternoon at her home near Big Cabin, Oklahoma. Della was born October 29, 1911 at Big Cabin to William Earnest Campbell and Maude (Paulding) Campbell. She was a life long resident of Big Cabin, graduating from high school there and filling the position of Postmaster for 20 years. She retired from the postal service in 1974. She married Norville R. "Andy" Harlan on November 15, 1930. Mr. Harlan preceded his wife in death in 1976. She was a member of Big Cabin Christian Church and she enjoyed sewing and quilting, and playing cards with her sisters. She is survived by her son, Otis Harlan of Big Cabin, Oklahoma; four sisters, Helen Haney, Faye Borgstrom and Thelma Hentz, all of Big Cabin and Pauline Holden of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and three adopted great-grandchildren. Della was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Pearl Leake; one son, Norville Leon Harlan and two sisters, Stella Chambers and Martha Trundle. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2007 at Big Cabin Christian Church with Pastor Max Adams officiating. Interment will be in Big Cabin Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita.
