Delmer Colby

Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555 Delmer "Del" Dean Colby, 79 year old Vinita resident, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. He was born on December 22, 1934 to Wilmer and Nellie (Booth) Colby. On September 7, 1966 he was united in marriage to Cooweesta Ann Jones at the home of and by George Vaughn near Vinita. They moved to their farm in Bluejacket in 1976, where they ranched and done commercial hay baling. They ran Charolais and Limousine Cattle. They retired from the farm in October of 2000 and built their present home north of Vinita. The family includes sons: Duane Colby and wife Teresa and Darrell Colby and wife Dianne of Afton, and sister Eileen Dameron of Woodward, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ann Colby, daughters: Dena and Deanette, and brother Sonny Colby. The funeral will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
