Delmour Wesley Grissom, 81, of Delaware, Oklahoma, passed away Friday night, March 31, 2017 at the Osage Nursing Home, in Nowata. Delmour was born September 4, 1935 at Chelsea, Oklahoma to Charles Wesley Grissom and Nora (Brogdon) Grissom. He grew up and received his education in Alluwe, graduating Alluwe High School in 1954. As a young man, Delmour worked for cattle for several people. He then worked for Forrest & Layton Oil, Gordon Electric and several others, before owning & operating his own electrical shop, Grissom Electric. Delmour was a lifelong resident of Nowata County, living the last 58 years in Delaware. He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and a lifetime member of AQHA. Delmour enjoyed breeding and raising horses, working cattle and loved spending time with family. He always had a good horse and a good dog. Survivors include, two sons, Brad Grissom and his wife, Linda of Ochelata, Oklahoma and Brian Grissom and his wife, Vickie of Wann, Oklahoma; one sister, Elizabeth McLaughlin and her husband, Curtis of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends. He is also survived by his adopted family, Jania, Clint, Courtney and Clay Faulkner and Harper. Delmour was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Deloris Diamond. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2017 at Benjamin Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church with Father Jose Thottathil, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Lenapah, Oklahoma, under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service. Friends who wish may donate Tulsa Catholic Charities or Comforting Hands Hospice in honor of Mr. Grissom.
