Don Whitney

Don Elmer Whitney, age 57, Grove resident, died surrounded by his family on Tuesday July 26, 2011. He was born May 26, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas to his parents, Lamar Henry and Mildred Arlene (Jones) Whitney. Don grew up in Kansas and Colorado, moving to Oklahoma in the late 1970s. Don enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, riding motorcycles, spending time with family and friends, as well as hanging out at the firehouse. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Whitney. Don leaves many loving memories with his family, daughter, Amanda Nichols and husband, Jeremy; son, Adam Cooper; father, Lamar Whitney; five brothers, Wolfe and wife Kathy, Gary, Elvis, Ray and wife Susan, and Randy; sisters, Brenda and husband David, Linda and husband Pat; grandchildren, Gaven, Skyler, Colby, Jayden, Payton, Hunter, and Haleigh; as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and numerous friends. Visitation will be Friday evening July 29, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday July 30, 2011 at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Private family burial will follow.
