Graveside Services for Donald Smith will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Springhill Church Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas with Pastor Lex Fox officiating. Services have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. Donald Dean (Duck) Smith, 64, of Lenapah, Oklahoma, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas, died Friday, January 13, 2012 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Donald was born on January 29, 1947 to Merriam and Edgar Smith, Sr. in Coffeyville, Kansas. He married Diann K. Jackson on May 15, 1967 and lived in Galveston a short time while he worked at Datson's before moving to Coffeyville, Kansas. Donald and Diann had two daughters together. His favorite things to do were hunt, fish and camp. He also loved spending time with his family. He loved spending time with each one of his nieces and nephews. Over the years, Donald worked at a couple of places including Funks Manufacturing in Coffeyville, Kansas and Asbury Village and ended up owning and operating his own mechanic shop. He will be missed by all who knew him. Donald is survived by his parents, Edgar and Merriam Smith, his wife, Diann Smith; a daughter Delinda Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada; one granddaughter, Alexandria Spina of Las Vegas, Nevada; five brothers, Edgar Smith, Jr. of Galveston, Texas, Everett Smith, Elden Smith, Ivan Smith, and Ronald Smith all of Coffeyville, Kansas; two sisters, Phyllis Sisco and Sharon Yeubanks both of Coffeyville, Kansas and 39 nieces and nephews. Donald is preceded in death by his daughter, Deanna Smith. Online condolences can be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
