Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. Donald Gene Lybarger, 77 year old lifetime resident of Grove, passed away after battling a longtime illness on October 13, 2016. Don was born on November 26, 1938 in the Cayuga/Carr Branch area. He was the son of Mary Jane (Berry) and Clyde Lybarger. During early childhood, Don would ride horse back to attend the local rural school. He later attended Grove public schools, and was in the graduating class of 1956. Don was a three year letterman in Football and Baseball, one year in Track & Field. He went on to play football for NEO A&M in Miami, OK. Don was the owner and operator of the Chalet Supper Club and the Cowskin Prairie Restaurant, Lounge & Motel. Don enjoyed many outdoor activities thought the years including hunting, fishing, camping, scuba diving and metal detecting, noodeling and spear fishing. His greatest passion however was country music and OU football. Through the years he promoted many country music shows here locally and truly loved real country music. But most of all, Don loved his family, children, grandchildren and friends. Don was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Don will be greeted in heaven by his parents Clyde Lybarger and Mary Jane Reed, his son Lanne Lybarger and grandson Tristan Sylvester. He leave behind to miss him dearly, his wife Sherri (Koenig) Lybarger of the home, his son Toben Lybarger and his wife Cathy, his daughters Tiffany Lybarger-Butler and her husband Micheal and Darcy Lybarger-Sylvester and husband Ronnie. Don was blessed with eleven grandchildren; Carben Sylvester, Chance Sylvester, Kaunner Sylvester, Deven Lybarger, Lindsey Lybarger, Austin Butler, Addysen Butler, Logan Lybarger, Carson Lybarger and Lacee Sylvester, and Ronnie Sylvester III. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, OK. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 17, 2016 at Grove First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Paslay officiating. Don will be laid to rest in the Cauyga Cemetery. Honoring Don's life serving as casket bearers will be; Keith Fields, Mike Spicer, Dan Swearingen, Steve Sanders, Greg Spicer, John Terry, Jarrel Browning and Micheal Butler.
