Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555 Donald Richard Howard, M.D., 80 year old Grand Lake resident, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015. Don was born in Poplar Bluff, MO on September 16, 1934 to Edgar Saxton and Hazel (Burns) Howard. On October 9, 1966 he was united in marriage to Grace Rietveld and together they raised three children. Donald was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy as a Naval Flight Surgeon. Don also ran his own medical practice, Radiological Services of Oklahoma, in Bartlesville, from 1968-1995. After retirement he moved to Grand Lake where he loved fishing and bird hunting. He was also a Master Mason at the Vinita Masonic Lodge #5. Survivors include his children: William Howard and wife Lucy of Trenton, TX, Tamra White and husband Joe of Liberty, MO, and Kathryn Carnes and husband Fred of Oklahoma City, grandchildren: Casey Berry, Desiree Harston, Adam Howard, Andrew Howard, and Callie White, and great grandchildren Kiersten Harston and Jillian Harston. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Grace, brother Gene Howard, as well as 3 other siblings. The celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel in Vinita, with Pastor Joe White officiating. Masonic Rites will be performed by Vinita Masonic Lodge #5. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com
