Donald Moore

Donald Ammie Moore, 97, of Bartlesville, OK (formerly of Woodward and Enid), passed away at Heritage Villa Nursing Center of Bartlesville.

Don was born January 8, 1925, at Woodward, OK to Alvin Ammie Moore and Osa Pearl (Holliday) Moore.  He grew up in Woodward and graduated Woodward High School, Class of 1943.  Don married the love of his life, Bobbie Lou Emerson on November 10, 1946, at Woodward.  The couple made their home in Woodward and began farming and ranching.  After they moved to town, Don went to work for Globe Life Insurance and later, for Metropolitan Life.  At Met Life, he began a decorated career that spanned several years.  In 1968, Don was promoted to Regional Manager for Met Life.  In 1970, the Moore family moved to Bartlesville, OK and Don retired at age 57, but also owned and operated rental property.

He was very active in the Woodward First United Methodist Church.  Don and Bobbie enjoyed a great group of friends that they travelled with and played bridge with.  They kept a boat on Grand Lake and have fond memories catching “sandies” with the grandchildren.

Donald is survived by his daughters, Ann Montalbano of Superior, CO and Elizabeth Wiersig and her husband, Tom of Bartlesville; five grandchildren, Chris Montalbano and wife, Nicole, Kenny Montalbano and wife, Sarah and Elizabeth French and husband, Mike, all of Louisville, CO, Keith Weirsig and his girlfriend, Dodie Keith of Welch, OK and Monica Wiersig of Spokane Valley, WA; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Bobbie on November 13, 2020, and by two sisters, Eva Bowman and Lucille Stark.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home of Bartlesville and a memorial service will be held at a later date for both Donald and Bobbie at Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward, OK.  To send an online condolence, visit www.honoringmemories.com.
