Donald Lelon Reno, 41, of Bartlesville, OK died Monday evening, June 14, 2021, at the Journey Home Hospice House. Don was born November 6, 1979, at Claremore, Oklahoma to Donald Reno and LaVaughn (Sequichie) Reno. The family moved to Vian, Oklahoma when Donnie was very young and later to Gore, Oklahoma, where Donnie attended school and played football. After high school, he moved to Tulsa and worked at the Coney I-Lander, where he would meet Angela Shimko. The couple moved to Bartlesville and on September 7, 2007, were married at Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
Donnie worked for Asplundh Tree Expert Co. and was a tree climber, crew leader and foreman for the company and also owned his own tree service, Better Tree Company. He was a member of the High Climbers Brotherhood of Oklahoma. Donnie loved his work and was constantly busy. Any down time would include video games and making and watching Youtube videos. He was a hard-working, family man who adored his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Angela of the home; his father, Don Reno of Tulsa; his mother, LaVaughn Lee and bonus dad, Harland of Gore; two sons, Christopher Glenn of Bartlesville and Donald Shimko of Lawton, Oklahoma; his four siblings, LaDonna Brewer and husband, Brian of Tulsa, Kelli Lee of Vian, Zeke Sequichie of Lexington, Oklahoma and Lecrecia Scroggins and husband, Andrew of Stillwell, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and a grandson on the way as well as, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Wilson and Margaret Sequichie and paternal grandparents, Leroy and Dovie Abbott and Jim Reno; by his step-brother, Brenton Shores and bonus mom, Linna Reno.
Funeral services for Donnie Reno will be 11am, Friday, June 18, 2021, at Hope Center Church, 349 S. 49th West Ave., Tulsa with Senior Pastor Dusty Giles, officiating. Committal services will be in the Stevenson Cemetery, Orchard Road, Gore, OK. Service and interment have been entrusted to Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
