Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita - 9180256-5555, --- Donald V. Scott, 77 year old life time Vinita resident, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. He was born on January 4, 1938 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Earl Alvie Scott and Anna Lee Cloud Scott. Don served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He married Olive Irene "Margie" Scott on April 15, 1958 in Miami, Oklahoma. Donald was owner/operator of Don Scott Roofing for many years. He was a Christian and a member of the Vinita Church of the Nazarene. Donald enjoyed gardening, mowing his lawn, driving dune buggies, coon hunting, singing, being a weatherman and having family cookouts and socials. He was a very proud member of the Cherokee Tribe. One of his proudest accomplishments was building his own log cabin, sawing all the logs and putting it together. Those preceding him in death include his; parents, a son Darrell Scott in 1985, brothers, J. C., Gerald, Layman, and Lloyd Scott; sisters, Serda Bell Edwards, Wanda Winton and Eunice Cline; and a nephew Billy Morris. The family includes: his wife Margie of the home, children, Diane Greer and husband John of Welch, Donald Scott and wife Tracy of Vinita, Cindy Armstrong and husband Joe of Vinita, Ron Scott of Vinita, Phillip Scott of Vinita, Shannan Bartley husband Bill of Bluejacket; a sister Lavenia Edwards and husband John of Vinita; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Vinita Church of the Nazarene, at 350 S Scraper in Vinita. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Vinita Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor David Stevens officiating.
