Funeral services for Craig County homemaker and teacher Donna Marie (Vogel) Boevers will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June 17, 2009 in the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Donna Marie passed away on June 14, 2009. She was the daughter of Benjamin Rudolph Vogel and Dona (Jensen) Vogel. She was born December 26, 1924 in El Reno, Canadian County, Oklahoma. She married Ivan Boevers on November 28, 1946 in Union City, Oklahoma. In 1947 they started farming and ranching in Craig County and continued until his retirement. Donna received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha in 1946. She took additional courses at the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University. She taught school for 38 years in Craig County. The last 20 years were in Vinita at Hall-Halsell Elementary School. Donna Marie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, Premier Worth-While Club, Green Country University Women, and Retired Educators Association. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan, in 1994, also a sister Gwendine Vogel and in 2008, a son Bennie Bob Boevers. She is survived by a daughter Janet Marie Shaw and husband John Shaw of Ketchum, grandchildren, Jessie Russell, Jason Dobbs, and Kandie Wood. Also surviving is her sister Aline McMahan of Chickasha, nieces and nephews Pamela Powers and husband Jim, Patricia Williams and husband Duane, William McMahan, Gail Goldtrap, Gary Boevers and wife Barbara, and Carol Tinney, several great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Final interment will be at Timpson Chapel Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com
