Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita, Oklahoma (918) 256 - 5555 �-�- Donnie "Don" Lee Curry, 66 year old Big Cabin, Oklahoma Rancher passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home. Don was born in Clayton, New Mexico on November 17, 1949 to his parents Owasa O. and Marry Jane (Lawrence) Curry. Don grew up on the family farm in rural Clayton, New Mexico and graduated from Texline, Texas High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering and held several engineering positions leading up to being a Facilities Operations Manager for Johnson Controls World Services, Inc. In 1976 while living in Thermopolis, Wyoming, Don met Joanne Mack, a native of Minnesota. Don and Joanne were married on November 25, 1978 in Taunton, Minnesota and they enjoyed over 37 years of marriage before Don's passing. They lived in Wyoming for fourteen years and then moved to Oklahoma in 1990. In 1997 Don pursued his passion of being a full time rancher which included running a commercial poultry operation for several years before focusing solely on building his cow-calf operation. Don was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Vinita, Oklahoma where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Mass Lector. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids, creating home and ranch décor out of horseshoes, fishing, cooking and grilling, making homemade ice-cream, playing Sudoku, playing cards and playing dominoes with his brothers and sisters. Don always enjoyed watching college football, western movies and television shows, especially John Wayne movies. Don had an incredible work ethic and was always selfless and he truly enjoyed taking care of his cow-calf operation. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Juanita; Don is survived by his wife Joanne Curry of the home; three sons, Bradley Curry and wife Julie of Noble, Oklahoma; Bryan Curry and wife Sheryl of Moore, Oklahoma; and Christopher Curry and wife Desiree of Yukon, Oklahoma; two brothers, Wayne Curry of Greeley, Colorado; and Cleo Curry and wife Sue of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Bernice Derickson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Eileen Downs of Pueblo, Colorado; three grandchildren, Bethany Wiginton and husband James of Bixby, Oklahoma; Tiffany Kirby and husband Trey of Noble, Oklahoma; and Caleb Curry of Yukon, Oklahoma; as well as several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The Rosary will be 7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Lugiubuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita, Oklahoma. Memorial Mass services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, January 21, 2015 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Vinita with Reverend M. E. Cashen officiating. Inurnment will follow at Big Cabin Cemetery in Big Cabin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, Oklahoma.
