Dora Koon

Dora Mae Rebecca Koon, went to her Heavenly home on July 10, 2007 in Vinita at the age of 87. She was born June 2, 1920 in Vinita to Jake and Dora Harrison Mathis. Dora grew up in the area and married W. D. "Bill" Koon on March 18, 1942 in Vinita; they recently celebrated their 65th anniversary. Dora worked at the Autumn Nursing Center and Rosewood Terrace for 37 years, retiring in 1997. Her care giving spirit was with her to the very end. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Jackson, Aaron, Everett, Jeff and Hershell Mathis. Dora is survived by, her husband Bill of the home, five children, Willa Mae Walker and husband Ronnie of Broken Arrow, Margaret Manley of Owasso, Micah Koon and wife Donna of Vinita, Sammy Koon of Vinita, Eva Jane Webb and husband Michael of Owasso, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 13, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of God in Vinita, with Pastor Eddie Wrinkle and Pastor Onos Hood officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
