Dora "Bell" Simmons - Bell Simmons passed away on July 7, 2011 while living at Rosewood Terrace. She was born on April 23, 1918 in Melissa, Texas to Henry and Martha Stice Ferguson. She married Preston Simmons on August 14, 1933. She retired from Eastern State Hospital after many years. After retiring she was able to start her hoppy of making quilts for her children and most of her grandchildren, she also liked to crochet and go fishing with the grandchildren, her family was her life. Surviving is: Maxine Madl and husband Fred of Ketchum, Lee Simmons and wife Karen of Vinita, Mary Johnson of Sherman, TX, Jesse Simmons and wife Lois of Springfield, MO, Tom Simmons and wife Celia of Oswego, KS, Palula Carr and husband Tom of Springdale, AR, Danny Simmons and wife Janice of Afton, Linda Gibson and husband Cloyd of Oswego, KS and sister Jimmie Lee Brown of Lucerne Valley, Ca. She has 57 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Preston Simmons and son H.L. Simmons and sisters Francis Epperson, Julie Buckalew and brother Walter Ferguson. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home with Pastor Leland Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow at Bluejacket Cemetery.
