Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261 Dorese Packard, age 98, passed away on February 21, 2016 at Grove Nursing Center in Grove, Oklahoma. Dorese was born in Edna, Kansas, September 19, 1917 to Mr. and Mrs. James T. Nevius, Sr. She was the youngest of six children, all have preceded her in death. Dorese attended both Edna grade and high school where she had a perfect attendance for all twelve years. She was a member of the Edna Methodist Church. On June 15, 1940, Dorese and Eldon "Mike" Packard were married in Le Harp, Kansas. They made their home in Edna except for a short time in Coffeyville where Mike worked at Cooperative Refinery for 27 years, retiring in 1976. At that time, they moved to Monkey Island on Grand Lake where Mike died in 1986. Dorese is survived by one son; Rick Packard and his wife Susan, two grandchildren; Cindy Rosenquist and Christopher Packard and his wife Jessie. Dorese was blessed with three great grandchildren Tyler Rosenquist, Jaeden Rosenquist, and Karstan Packard. She is also survived by three special nieces; Sharon Bozman, Lavetrice Lewis and Carol Ann & Jon Flaiz, two sisters in law, Maxine and Iola Packard, & two nephews, Charles & Robert Nevius. Stella & Larry Jacobs, Alan and Donna Thomas were truly wonderful friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, February 25, 2016 both being held at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Honoring Dorese's life by serving as casket bearers will be Tyler Rosenquist, Jaeden Rosenquist, Karstan Packard and Brooklyn Collins, with Alan Thomas and Gary Kees as honorary casket bearer. Dorese will be laid to rest in Rolston Cemetery located on Monkey Island.
