Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, OK (918) 256-5555....Doris Evelyn Gottsponer 75, passed away on December 24, 2018 in Tulsa, OK. Doris was born on August 04, 1943 in Hartford, CT to Alfred and Rita (Follensbee) Mehlhorn.
Doris attended school in Hartford, Connecticut and would later go on to receive her GED. She worked over 30 years for Craig General Hospital before retiring. Doris married the man of her dreams on November 25, 1961 in Coventry, Connecticut. She was of the Catholic faith and worshipped at numerous places throughout her life. Doris loved to cook and keep a very tidy house, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Rita (Follensbee) Mehlhorn, sons, Eddie and Jimmy Gottsponer.
Doris is survived by her Husband, Edward Gottsponer of the home; daughter Theresa Hopper and husband Jefferey of Vinita; brother, Arthur Mehlhorn and wife Annette of Oregon, sisters, Terri Sessions and husband Tom of CT, Mary Menzo and husband Dominique of MA, Marion Gregory of CT; granddaughter, Whitney Newton, grandsons, Blake Cook and Dylan Bishop, great-granddaughters, Natalie Cook, McKenzie Newton, great-grandsons, Blake Cook, Lincoln Newton, along with 4 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Family visitation will be on Friday December 28, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita, OK. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 29, 2018 in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. Doris will be cremated following the Funeral Service.
