Doris Ann Olson, 84, of Grove, Oklahoma died at 10:56 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma. Doris was born January 6, 1925 in Rock Island, Illinois to George and Annabelle (Levine) McGill. She graduated from Rock Island High School. Doris was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Evangelical Free Church in Moline, Illinois. She enjoyed cooking and cross-stitching. Doris was most proud of the fact that her children grew up in the church and knew the Lord personally. On Memorial Day, May 31, 1946, she married Clarence Olson at the Evangelical Free Church in Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2001. She was also preceded in death by one son, Randy Olson who was killed in Vietnam, and one brother, Thomas McGill. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Schubert and her husband Norval of Afton, Oklahoma, one son, Jeff Olson of California; four grandchildren, Brian Paul of San Angelo, Texas, Allison Nolan of League City, Texas, Jeff Olson, Jr. and Angela Olson both of California; and five great-grandchildren, Wyatt Paul, Garrett Paul, Rion Nolan, Katie Olson and Baby Boy Olson. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend James Wilder officiating. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Rose Lawn Memorial Estates in Moline, Illinois with Don Johnson officiating. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove, Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements. Friends and family may leave on line condolences at www.honoringmemories.com.
